Anti-TBCE antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein tubulin folding cofactor E. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 527 amino acid residues and a mass of 59.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in many tissues, such as the cerebellum and spleen. A member of the TBCE protein family, TBCE is known to be a tubulin-folding protein; involved in the second step of the tubulin folding pathway and in the regulation of tubulin heterodimer dissociation. Synonyms for this target antigen include KCS, KCS1, PEAMO, pac2, tubulin-specific chaperone E, and HRD. TBCE gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of TBCE antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
