Anti-Prohibitin antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene PHB in humans. The gene may also be known as Bap32, PHB1, HEL-215, HEL-S-54e, epididymis luminal protein 215, and epididymis secretory sperm binding protein Li 54e. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 29.8 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, plant, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
