Anti-TMCO1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein transmembrane and coiled-coil domains 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 239 amino acid residues and a mass of 27.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER and Golgi. It is found to be widely expressed in adult and fetal tissues, with higher levels in thymus, prostate, testis and small intestine and lower levels in the brain, placenta, lung and kidney. A member of the TMCO1 protein family, TMCO1 is known to be a calcium-selective channel required to prevent calcium stores from overfilling, thereby playing a key role in calcium homeostasis. Synonyms for this target antigen include HP10122, PCIA3, PNAS-136, TMCC4, calcium load-activated calcium channel, and CFSMR1. TMCO1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some TMCO1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
