Anti-MBD3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein methyl-CpG binding domain protein 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 291 amino acid residues and a mass of 32.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. MBD3 is known to act as a component of the histone deacetylase NuRD complex which participates in the remodeling of chromatin.
