Anti-Brain abundant membrane attached signal protein 1 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene BASP1 in humans. The gene may also be known as NAP22, CAP-23, CAP23, NAP-22, brain acid soluble protein 1, and 22 kDa neuronal tissue-enriched acidic protein. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 22.7 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
