Anti-Paired box 8 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene PAX8 in humans. The gene may also be known as paired box protein Pax-8, and paired domain gene 8. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 48.2 kilodaltons in mass. The PAX8 marker can be used to identify Secretory Epithelial Cells.* Based on gene name, canine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
