Anti-LLGL1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein LLGL scribble cell polarity complex component 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1064 amino acid residues and a mass of 115.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the golgi and cytoplasm. It is reported to be expressed in the brain, kidney, and muscle but is barely seen in heart and placenta. A member of the WD repeat L(2)GL protein family, it is known to be involved with neuronal development and cytoskeleton organization. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include HUGL, HUGL-1, HUGL1, LLGL, Lgl1, Mgl1, lethal(2) giant larvae protein homolog 1, and DLG4.
