Anti-IRX3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein iroquois homeobox 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 501 amino acid residues and a mass of 52.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. A member of the TALE/IRO homeobox protein family, IRX3 is a reported transcription factor involved in SHH-dependent neural patterning. Synonyms for this target antigen include homeodomain protein IRXB1, iroquois homeobox protein 3, iroquois-class homeodomain protein IRX-1, and iroquois-class homeodomain protein IRX-3. IRX3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
