Anti-GSG1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein germ cell associated 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 349 amino acid residues and a mass of 39.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER. Up to 8 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the GSG1 protein family, GSG1 is believed to cause the redistribution of PAPOLB from the cytosol to the endoplasmic reticulum. Synonyms for this target antigen include germ cell-specific gene 1 protein and testicular secretory protein Li 20. GSG1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. These GSG1 antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
