Anti-Dermatan sulfate epimerase antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene DSE in humans. The gene may also be known as DS-epi1, DSEP, DSEPI, EDSMC2, DS epimerase, and chondroitin-glucuronate 5-epimerase. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 109.8 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
