Anti-LPCAT1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein lysophosphatidylcholine acyltransferase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 534 amino acid residues and a mass of 59.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER, Golgi, and cell membrane. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the 1-acyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase protein family, LPCAT1 is known to be involved with eye development. Synonyms for this target antigen include 1-acylglycerophosphocholine O-acyltransferase, 1-alkenylglycerophosphocholine O-acyltransferase, 1-alkylglycerophosphocholine O-acetyltransferase, and 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase. LPCAT1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of LPCAT1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
