Anti-GTP binding protein overexpressed in skeletal muscle antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene GEM in humans. The gene may also be known as GTP binding protein (gene overexpressed in skeletal muscle), KIR, and GTP-binding protein GEM. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 33.9 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, plant, fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
