Anti-PGM2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phosphoglucomutase 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 612 amino acid residues and a mass of 68.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Phosphohexose mutase protein family, PGM2 is known to catalyze the conversion of the nucleoside breakdown products ribose-1-phosphate and deoxyribose-1-phosphate to the corresponding 5-phosphopentoses. Synonyms for this target antigen include phosphopentomutase, glucose phosphomutase 2, phosphodeoxyribomutase, and MSTP006. PGM2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some PGM2 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
