Anti-SRP14 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein signal recognition particle 14. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 136 amino acid residues and a mass of 14.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. A member of a the SRP14 protein family, SRP14 is a known component of the signal recognition particle (SRP) complex, a ribonucleoprotein complex that mediates the cotranslational targeting of secretory and membrane proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). Synonyms for this target antigen include signal recognition particle 14 kDa protein, 18 kDa Alu RNA-binding protein, homologous Alu RNA binding protein, and ALURBP.
