Anti-MUCL1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mucin like 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 90 amino acid residues and a mass of 9 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. It is reported to be expressed in mammary, salivary glands and prostate. MUCL1 is believed to play a role as marker for the diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer. Post-translational modifications have been described, including O-glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include mucin-like protein 1 and small breast epithelial mucin. Some MUCL1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. ELISA, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunofluorescence are common applications for these antibodies.
