Anti-GSTM1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein glutathione S-transferase mu 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 218 amino acid residues and a mass of 25.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the liver. A member of the Mu protein family, GSTM1 is known to be involved with metabolic processes. Synonyms for this target antigen include GSTM1-1, GSTM1a-1a, GSTM1b-1b, GTH4, GTM1, H-B, MU, and GST1. Over 80 citations in the literature describe the use of GSTM1 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
