Anti-FGF4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein fibroblast growth factor 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 206 amino acid residues and a mass of 22 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Heparin-binding growth factors protein family, FGF4 is known to play an important role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation, and cell differentiation. Synonyms for this target antigen include HST, HST-1, HSTF-1, HSTF1, K-FGF, KFGF, heparin secretory transforming protein 1, and HBGF-4. FGF4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of FGF4 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
