Anti-CPN1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein carboxypeptidase N subunit 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 458 amino acid residues and a mass of 52.3 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. A member of the Peptidase M14 protein family, CPN1 is known to be involved with metabolic processes. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. The CPN1 gene has been associated with the disease, Carboxypeptidase N deficiency. Synonyms for this target antigen include SCPN, carboxypeptidase N catalytic chain, anaphylatoxin inactivator, arginine carboxypeptidase, carboxypeptidase K, and CPN. CPN1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some CPN1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
