Anti-CASP10 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein caspase 10. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 521 amino acid residues and a mass of 59 kDa. Up to 7 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in many tissues, such as the bone marrow, urinary bladder, and adrenal gland. A member of the Peptidase C14A protein family, CASP10 is reported to be involved in activation cascade of caspases responsible for apoptosis execution. Post-translational modifications have been described, including protein cleavage. Synonyms for this target antigen include FLICE-2, FLICE2, MCH4, FADD-like ICE2, FAS-associated death domain protein interleukin-1B-converting enzyme 2, and ALPS2. CASP10 gene orthologs have been reported in the frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Over 60 citations in the literature describe the use of CASP10 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
