Anti-PTDSS2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phosphatidylserine synthase 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 487 amino acid residues and a mass of 56.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER. A member of a the Phosphatidyl serine synthase protein family, PTDSS2 is known to catalyze a base-exchange reaction in which the polar head group of phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) or phosphatidylcholine (PC) is replaced by L-serine. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include ptdSer synthase 2, serine-exchange enzyme II, and PSS-2.
