Anti-MAGEC1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein MAGE family member C1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1142 amino acid residues and a mass of 123.6 kDa. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in testis and in tumors of a wide variety of histologic types. Among its functions, MAGEC1 is involved with the regulation of transcription. Synonyms for this target antigen include CT7.1, melanoma-associated antigen C1, MAGE-C1 antigen, cancer/testis antigen 7.1, cancer/testis antigen family 7, member 1, and CT7.
