Anti-PEX2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein peroxisomal biogenesis factor 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 305 amino acid residues and a mass of 34.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the peroxisomes. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Pex2/pex10/pex12 protein family, PEX2 is known to be involved with metabolic processes. The PEX2 gene has been associated with the disease, Peroxisome biogenesis disorder. Synonyms for this target antigen include PBD5A, PBD5B, PMP3, PMP35, PXMP3, RNF72, ZWS3, and PAF1. PEX2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some PEX2 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
