Anti-ECI2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein enoyl-CoA delta isomerase 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 394 amino acid residues and a mass of 43.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the heart, skeletal muscle and liver. It is a member of the Enoyl-CoA hydratase/isomerase protein family. Synonyms for this target antigen include DRS-1, DRS1, HCA88, PECI, dJ1013A10.3, D3,D2-enoyl-CoA isomerase, DBI-related protein 1, and ACBD2. ECI2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some ECI2 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
