Anti-BSP1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target BSP1 is a known alias name of the protein SMAD family member 1, encoded by the SMAD1 gene in humans. This 465-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in the morphogenesis of anatomical structure and bone development, among other biological processes. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features ubiquitinated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types.
