Anti-ADAM18 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ADAM metallopeptidase domain 18. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 739 amino acid residues and a mass of 82.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the testis. ADAM18 is known to be involved with cell adhesion and cell differentiation. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include tMDCIII, disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein 18, a disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain 18, and ADAM27. ADAM18 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Immunofluorescence is the most common application for the ADAM18 antibodies listed below. Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
