Anti-Syn antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Syn antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the FYN gene, which encodes FYN proto-oncogene, Src family tyrosine kinase. This protein is known to function in adaptive immune responses and axon guidance, among other biological roles. The human version of Syn has a canonical amino acid length of 537 residues and a protein mass of 60.8 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane, nucleus, and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the fallopian tube and lymph node. Syn is a member of the Tyr protein kinase protein family. These Syn antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
