Anti-Cullin 4a antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the CUL4A gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 759 amino acid residues and a mass of 87.7 kDa. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. A member of the Cullin protein family, it is an important component of multiple cullin-RING-based E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complexes which mediate the ubiquitination of target proteins. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Over 160 citations in the literature describe the use of Cullin 4a antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
