Anti-cIAP1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the cIAP1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the BIRC2 gene, which encodes baculoviral IAP repeat containing 2. This protein is known to function in receptor-mediated signaling pathways and the regulation of apoptosis, among other biological roles. The human version of cIAP1 has a canonical amino acid length of 618 residues and a protein mass of 69.9 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include API1, HIAP2, and Hiap-2. A number of cIAP1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
