Anti-ALDR1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target ALDR1 is a known alias name of the protein aldo-keto reductase family 1 member A1, encoded by the AKR1A1 gene in humans. This 325-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the NADPH-dependent reduction of a wide variety of carbonyl-containing compounds to their corresponding alcohols. It is localized to the cell membrane and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is widely expressed across many tissue types.
