Anti-DCP antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target DCP is a known alias name of the protein angiotensin I converting enzyme, encoded by the ACE gene in humans. This 1306-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a dipeptidyl carboxypeptidase that removes dipeptides from the C-terminus of a variety of circulating hormones, such as angiotensin I, bradykinin or enkephalins, thereby playing a key role in the regulation of blood pressure, electrolyte homeostasis or synaptic plasticity. It is localized to the cell membrane and cytoplasm of the cell and features glycosylated, cleaved and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is widely expressed across many tissue types. Other synonyms for DCP include ACE1, ACE1, and CD143. These DCP antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
