Anti-HO2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the HO2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the HMOX2 gene, which encodes heme oxygenase 2. This protein is known to function in the response to oxidative stress, among other biological roles. The human version of HO2 has a canonical amino acid length of 316 residues and a protein mass of 36 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. This target antigen may also be known as heme oxygenase (decycling) 2. A number of HO2 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
