Anti-HDEL antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the HDEL antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the KDELR1 gene, which encodes KDEL endoplasmic reticulum protein retention receptor 1. This protein is known to function in Golgi transport and protein transport, among other biological roles. The human version of HDEL has a canonical amino acid length of 212 residues and a protein mass of 24.5 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER, Golgi, and cytoplasmic vesicles of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include ERD2, ERD2, and ERD2.1. Some HDEL antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Immunoprecipitation, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
