Anti-ARF6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ADP ribosylation factor 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 175 amino acid residues and a mass of 20.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is found to be widely expressed, with higher levels in heart, substantia nigra, and kidney. A member of a the Arf protein family, ARF6 is known to be a GTP-binding protein involved in protein trafficking that regulates endocytic recycling and cytoskeleton remodeling. Post-translational modifications have been described, including myristoylation.
