Anti-PSMA antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene FOLH1, or 'folate hydrolase 1' in humans. The 750-amino acid protein is a member of the Peptidase M28 family, M28B subfamily. The cellular localization is predicted to be cytoplasmic and membrane-associated. Glycosylation sites have been reported.
