Anti-HOPS antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target HOPS is a known alias name of the protein alkaline phosphatase, biomineralization associated, encoded by the ALPL gene in humans. This 524-amino acid residue protein is reported to be an alkaline phosphatase that metabolizes various phosphate compounds and plays a key role in skeletal mineralization and adaptive thermogenesis. It is localized to the mitochondria and cell membrane of the cell and features N-glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues, such as the bone marrow, skin, and adrenal gland. Other synonyms for HOPS include AP-TNAP and APTNAP.
