Anti-FETA antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target FETA is a known alias name of the protein alpha fetoprotein, encoded by the AFP gene in humans. This 609-amino acid residue protein is known to bind copper, nickel, and fatty acids as well as, and bilirubin less well than, serum albumin. The protein is secreted and features cleaved, sulfated and glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in plasma.
