Anti-TCAP antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein titin-cap. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 167 amino acid residues and a mass of 19.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is notably expressed in the heart muscle and skeletal muscle. TCAP is known to be involved with the assembly of protein complexes. The TCAP gene has been associated with the disease, Cardiomyopathy. Synonyms for this target antigen include CMH25, LGMD2G, LGMDR7, TELE, telethonin, and CMD1N. TCAP gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of Tcap antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
