Anti-MPE16 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MPE16 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SLC7A5 gene, which encodes solute carrier family 7 member 5. This protein is known to function in carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis and the cellular response to lipopolysaccharides, among other biological roles. The human version of MPE16 has a canonical amino acid length of 507 residues and a protein mass of 55 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the lysosomes and cell membrane of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include 4F2LC, CD98, and D16S469E. These MPE16 antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
