Anti-LIP2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the LIP2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ANXA2 gene, which encodes annexin A2. This protein is known to function in angiogenesis, among other biological roles. The human version of LIP2 has a canonical amino acid length of 339 residues and a protein mass of 38.6 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the extracellular matrix and is secreted of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. LIP2 is a member of the Annexin protein family.
