Anti-BCLW antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the BCLW antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the BCL2L2 gene, which encodes BCL2 like 2. This protein is known to function in brain development and the apoptotic pathway, among other biological roles. The human version of BCLW has a canonical amino acid length of 193 residues and a protein mass of 20.7 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria and membrane of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. This target antigen may also be known as BCL-W. Western Blot is the most common application for the BCLW antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
