Anti-4F2HC antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the 4F2HC antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SLC3A2 gene, which encodes solute carrier family 3 member 2. This protein is known to function in the transport of ions and carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis, among other biological roles. The human version of 4F2HC has a canonical amino acid length of 630 residues and a protein mass of 68 kilodaltons, although 5 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the lysosomes and cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the cerebral cortex and kidney. Other names for this target antigen include 4F2 and 4T2HC.
