Anti-MTCH2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mitochondrial carrier 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 303 amino acid residues and a mass of 33.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. A member of a the Mitochondrial carrier (TC 2.A.29) protein family, MTCH2 is reported to be a protein insertase that mediates insertion of transmembrane proteins into the mitochondrial outer membrane. Synonyms for this target antigen include MIMP, SLC25A50, mitochondrial carrier homolog 2, 2310034D24Rik, met-induced mitochondrial protein, and HSPC032.
