Anti-RL antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the RL antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the RELN gene, which encodes reelin. This protein is known to function in axon guidance and brain development, among other biological roles. The human version of RL has a canonical amino acid length of 3460 residues and a protein mass of 388.4 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the extracellular matrix and is secreted of cells. Other names for this target antigen include ETL7, LIS2, and PRO1598. Over 100 citations in the literature describe the use of RL antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Flow Cytometry, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
