Anti-MDG antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MDG antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MPG gene, which encodes N-methylpurine DNA glycosylase. The human version of MDG has a canonical amino acid length of 298 residues and a protein mass of 32.9 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus, mitochondria, and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include AAG, AAG, and ADPG. Some MDG antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
