Anti-CPSB antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CPSB is a known alias name of the protein cathepsin B, encoded by the CTSB gene in humans. This 339-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a thiol protease, which is believed to participate in intracellular degradation and turnover of proteins. It is localized to the lysosomes and cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in the stratum spinosum of the epidermis.
