Anti-WASP family, member 3 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the WASF3 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 502 amino acid residues and a mass of 55.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in ovary and brain. A member of the SCAR/WAVE protein family, it is known to be involved with cytoskeleton organization and the assembly of protein complexes. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Other names for this target antigen include SCAR3, WAVE3, actin-binding protein WASF3, WAS protein family member 3, WASP family Verprolin-homologous protein 3, and Brush-1. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
