Anti-regulatory factor X8 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the RFX8 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 586 amino acid residues and a mass of 66.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 3 different isoforms for this protein. A member of the RFX protein family, it is believed to be a transcription factor. Other names for this target antigen include DNA-binding protein RFX8 and RFX family member 8, lacking RFX DNA binding domain. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, chimpanzee and chicken species.
