Anti-PHAF1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phagosome assembly factor 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 422 amino acid residues and a mass of 47.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the PHAF1 protein family, PHAF1 is reported to play a regulatory role in autophagic activity. Synonyms for this target antigen include UPF0183 protein C16orf70. PHAF1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
