Anti-fldP antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the fldP antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the HSD17B13 gene, which encodes hydroxysteroid 17-beta dehydrogenase 13. This protein is known to play a pivotal role in hepatic lipid metabolism. The human version of fldP has a canonical amino acid length of 300 residues and a protein mass of 33.7 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER of cells. fldP is a member of the Short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) protein family.
