Anti-outer dynein arm docking complex subunit 2 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the ODAD2 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1044 amino acid residues and a mass of 115.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in respiratory epithelial cells. It is a known component of the outer dynein arm-docking complex (ODA-DC) that mediates outer dynein arms (ODA) binding onto the doublet microtubule. The gene encoding this protein is implicated in Ciliary dyskinesia. Other names for this target antigen include CILD23, gudu, armadillo repeat containing 4, armadillo repeat-containing protein 4, testis tissue sperm-binding protein Li 74n, and ARMC4. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
